Tshiamo Dube is a 13-year-old Singer Songwriter with a burning desire to “Bend the World” through her music.
“I’ve always had an appreciation for music and the way that it can make you feel, the magical experience you can acquire from listen to an emotional song is amazing. This is the special connection that I want to share with everyone through music”.
Her passionate connection with music sparked in 2008 when she was gifted her first guitar, from that moment she had fallen in love with music and has been dedicated to building herself up musically.
Her first release “What about Us.” was first posted in May of 2018 shortly followed by her second song “Soar” posted in July, 2018.
While “What about us.” is different from “Soar”, however, they both speak from her heart.
She considers her family – mum & dad as well her ally-in-mischief (her sister) as her biggest support system and inspiration. “My FAM, have helped me greatly in paving the way to my dreams, they have been instrumental in me releasing my first song “What about us. I was inspired to release my first single what about us because I noticed that the world could be such a good place if we just looked deep within ourselves to help those in need. I want to send all the proceeds earned by my song to charity organizations that deal with children. Weather they have been victims of abuse or if they are homeless or if they are suffering from any terminal disease, I feel strongly that they should be given a fighting chance and in this cruel world where kids tend to be voiceless.”
Which is available for purchase on ITunes. “What about us” is focused on charity and generosity while “Soar” was made with a different reason in mind. It focuses on expectations people place on us and how it makes us feel.
“This heartfelt song is about never being able to meet the expectations of someone who loves you. It consoles, as it reminds the listener that everything will be all right in the end.”
SOAR:
The song is about never being able to meet the expectations of someone who loves you. We can all relate to this at some level as it’s a feeling that is universal and that affects everyone at some point.
I am hoping that it will be inspiring to those who are struggling with the same emotions, the intention of this song is to serve as a reminder to those hurt by their loved ones scrutiny and harsh words, that everything will be alright in the end.
I drew inspiration from one of my all time favourite songs be “Alright” by Justin Bieber. I hope that all who listen to it either can relate or feel empathy for those in a similar situation as described in the song.
